Feedback from our last mission trip:
“A rewarding and faith-building experience that combined service, teamwork, and cultural connection.”
“Thank you to everyone who made the trip possible, your care and planning made it a truly memorable experience.”
“A fun, engaging and hands on way to serve the Roma community.”

 Dear Friends

Thank you to so many of you for your support – whether encouragement for our recent trip, prayers for safety and for our work, or monthly giving. We very much appreciate your kindness.

Our trip to Reghin at the end of September/early October went very well. With our team of 7 and help from 3 Phoneo team members and Florin whose family the house is for, we managed to complete more than we had planned including foundations, walls and roof beams of a one room home. They will now have a safe and weatherproof home ready to withstand the harsh winters.

It was once again both rewarding and humbling to be able to help a poor family in desperate need. Feedback from team members on this trip includes:

“A rewarding and faith-building experience that combined service, teamwork, and cultural connection.”

Our 2026 trip is likely to be Saturday 28 September to Saturday 5 October so please save those dates now if interested. Depending on numbers and work needed, we may add further dates. Please speak to Peter Owen or Pete Ferency at the Lantern for further info or if you, or someone you know, may be interested in joining us on a trip.

It was good to see our friends at Phoneo again and to discuss their projects supporting the Roma communities and how we can continue to work with them.

Please pray:

• Give thanks that we were able once again to help a Roma family and show them that others care

• For the teachers at Selah school as they help the Roma children to attend the local school and get an education

• For protection over the Roma communities that they will stay safe and well in the harsh winter

• For our mission partners Phoneo – that they will recruit more team members needed and will continue to know God’s guidance to carry out His work amongst the Roma communities

Thank you and God bless

 Dear Friends

Thank you to so many of you for your support – whether encouragement for our recent trip, prayers for safety and for our work, or monthly giving. We very much appreciate your kindness.

Our trip to Reghin at the end of September/early October went very well. Rather than in previous trips, helping towards a home for a single family, this time we helped several families as below:

• Helped a young mum of 3 by putting up a fence around her home to give her more security

• Repaired a water pump to provide clean water to the family

• Helped extend a chimney flue to enable smoke from a stove to exit a home safely and avoid repetition of a fire which sadly lead to a young child losing their life

• Added an extra tarpaulin cover to provide extra insulation over the basic hut which is home for a grandmother and her young grandchild

• Helped enclose a gable end of a roof and help better insulate a home for 3 teenagers whose parents are not around to look after them

It was once again both rewarding and humbling to be able to help the families in desperate need. Marcos Sehnem was on his first Mission to Romania trip and joined Pete Ferenczy, Perry Grist and Peter Owen who had been before. Marcos summed up his trip saying it was ‘a fulfilling and heartwarming experience’ and he is keen to join us again next year.

It is looking likely that our 2025 trip will be Saturday 27 September to Saturday 4 October so please save those dates now if interested. Depending on numbers and work needed, we may add further dates. Please speak to Peter Owen or Pete Ferency at the Lantern or Walter Meyer at St Barnabas for further info or if you, or someone you know, may be interested in joining us on a trip.

It was good to see our friends at Phoneo again and to discuss their projects supporting the Roma communities and how we can continue to work with them.

Please pray:

• Give thanks that we were able to help so many Roma people in need during the recent trip

• For a 3 year old and her young siblings who Phoneo are trying to support

• For the teachers at Selah school as they help the Roma children to attend the local school and get an education

• For protection over the Roma communities that they will stay safe and well in the harsh winter

• For our mission partners Phoneo – that they will recruit more team members needed and will continue to know God’s guidance to carry out His work amongst the Roma communities
