CANFORD MAGNA CHURCHES - MISSION TO ROMANIA
March already and it won’t be long before we start booking flights for trips this year. Unfortunately, Targu Mures airport has had to shut down temporarily and so this year it looks as if all our flights will be to/from Cluj Napoca, some 120kms away and a drive of over two hours, so more extra expense!
Those who visited Reghin last month for the Selah school opening all returned safely but very tired after frustrating delays/diversions off the M3 on the last lap of their journey home. However, they all had a really great time and were very impressed with the new Phoneo church; the recently completed school and by the high standard of the children’s work - particularly the older boys’ mathematics! Everyone, from the children upwards, was so proud of their school and much praise was given to God and that through Him all things are possible. Our people enjoyed meeting up with others from Holland who’d also helped with the building and some joined in football training with the Petelea teenagers. We’re now looking at ways in which we could support this valuable outreach - how about it AFC Bournemouth?
Last Sunday we had a successful presentation afternoon at St B’s - not that that many turned up but five more people did say they’d like to go to Reghin this year. We now have over 20 volunteers but the problem is that not many have opted to go in May or June. So, are you or do you know of anyone who may be interested to spend a week in Romania in the early summer for the princely sum of just £350? If this isn’t for you then why not sponsor someone else who is keen to go but can’t afford it!
The dates for working visits in 2017 are 6-13 May; 3-10 June; 16-23 September and 23-30 September.
We are hoping to help create a toddlers’ play area at the Blue House; do building work/ repairs in the Roma communities at Apalina and Petelea; + kids’ work and helping at the shelter for the homeless.
If you are at all interested, please speak to any member of the RAG Team as soon as possible
Trusting we can continue to count on your support and with every blessing.
